Nintendo Switch Emulator Announced for PC, Mac and Linux

The seventh major video game console from Japanese major Nintendo, the Switch, has seen an unprecedented growth in popularity over the last twelvemonth. Since its launch in March 2017, Nintendo has sold over 10 million units worldwide (as of Dec 12, 2017). The company has ramped up product of the Nintendo Switch and plans to sell over twenty million units by March 2019.

However, Switch sales may take a striking this year considering of a recent proclamation from the team of developers behind the Citra 3DS emulator. According to the announcement, the squad has developed an experimental open up-source Switch emulator which is capable of running Switch titles on PC, Mac and Linux. The announcement came from the emulator's official Twitter handle which read:

While proud members of the PC Master Race are more happy with the announcement, others have expressed concern. On a Reddit discussion thread regarding the announcement, a number of people have noted that the release of a capable emulator might adversely affect the sales every bit people will be able to play Switch sectional titles on their systems.
